Northern Light School was founded on September 11, 1989 by four women with a calling to provide a Whole Child Education for children who would not have the opportunity for a private school setting.
Since its founding, we have embodied the basic premise that it does indeed "Take a Village to Raise a Child." At Northern Light School our "village" is so much more than the community of students, educators, and families who call this school home. We remind our students daily that they are part of the global village of the world, and that because they live in an interdependent global society, they have an obligation to make the world a better place.

This week we are proud to share that we at northern light are participating in an organization wide production of “THE WIZ.” Not surprising to those of us here at the school--it is our kinder, first, and second grade students stepping up the most. That’s right!! Our babies have a script they are reading from and remembering their lines. Can you say fluency and art?
Northern light is currently signing children up for summer camp. There are limited positions available, so, please pick up your applications at the front office as soon as possible and submit them before March 16, 2017

Northern light Peewee basketball team has been on one since their lost to ACA Feb. 25th, especially Bryce P. who has taken it upon himself to carry the team. On Saturday this young man scored at will against taller and bigger defenders as well as stole the ball repeatedly from the opposing team. Were it not for his effort, along with Aiden W. and Jeremiah M. dominating the boards we would’ve gone down!

Coach Mario B.
We would like to give special thanks to this young man for consistently showing up for work rain or shine, short of staff or not, any group of children in program. Don’t know what we would have done without you this month. Thanks!!!
Shout out to Mr. Deandre W. the newest member to the Higherground Team here at Northern Light. This young man has come onto the scene and has had an immediate impact with the children in program. They simply love him already. And we must add he also has a wicked jump shot. Keep making waves young man.
Shout out to Ms. Faita J. for consistently showing up for thePeewee Basketball practices, riding with the team to the practice facility, and for keeping them in line like a responsible team mom generally do. We appreciate you.
Shout out to Mr. Peter W. once again for his tireless work and effort to ensure our children here at Northern Light have a quality educational experience.
