Congratulations are in order for our elementary boys they won their division in the Oakland Parks & Rec basketball league. They finished #1. The team has selected Sirvante J. as their MVP. He was their team captain and point guard. Every game he showed up ready to play win and motivated his team to do the same true HG spirit.
A super Special shout to Coach Tj for all his hard work coaching these fine young athletes. Pushing them to explore their talents. Come out of their shells and step up. And look. They’re all champions! #1.
“Our youth workers are getting their college game up. Selected youth workers were invited on a college campus tour to visit UC Davis. On this tour they got the college experience for a day, filled with answers to questions like how do I get here, tuition cost, scholarships, financial aid, how & when to prepare for college? But overall they had a fun field trip. If they keep it up we will keep taking them to colleges all across the state. Next field trip is Google!”
