Parker Scholar’s after school program serves an average of 100 students for both elementary and Middle school. Parker Scholar’s after-school program offers both academic tutoring and enrichment activities for all students! Scholars After-school provides academic support through homework mentoring, skill building, and academic games. In addition to academics, Parker Scholar’s also has enrichment activities for its students, such as Karate, dance and drumming. Higher Ground Agency will provide our students with enrichment activities around the following four company initiatives; Service Learning, Health and Fitness, Visual and Performing Arts. Higher Ground also has sports programming and enrichments for students in collaboration with outside agencies such as the Oakland Parks and Recreation for football, AAU for basketball, First Tee for Golf, Boy Scouts of America, Prescott Circus And Kids Rock Club.
This week Parker Scholar’s Cheer Girls is proud to share that we had a great time on our first impromptu field trip to Tilden Farm. The girls got an up close experience with nature, wild turkeys, and ducks. They got to hold a rattle snake, feed goats, cows, lamb and a ram. The best part of the entire experience was that it was totally free.”
Holiday Food Drive
Higher Ground’s Annual Food Drive will begin November 7th, 2016. There will be two food barrels one located in the entrance hallway by the main office. The other barrel will be in the cafeteria. Also each student will be given a bag for families to return their canned goods and dry food donations. The food drive will end the week of December 16th. Thanks, in advance for all families who will participate.
Holiday Coat Drive

Our football team wants to thank Coach Kennith for his commitment to them and making sure they get the practice that keeps them winning. Congratulation’s in order for the Parker football Team they won Again verses CSCE.
We appreciate the youth workers at Parker. We want to give thanks and praise to Desirae Frisbey for all of her hard work with the 4th & 5th Graders. We also like to thank all the middle school youth who participated in the college day tour at UC Berkeley.
