McClymonds High:
Student Athlete Interviews
Our company’s competitive sports initiatives is called The Community Kidz. This initiatives focuses on developing both the student and the athlete. We teach our student athletes that to be a student athlete consist of more than just being a good at a sport. Being a student athlete means going to college and pursuit a degree not just a jersey with your name on it. The Community Kidz focus on teaching our students that 1.) They are going to college! And 2.) They will give back to their community!
In practicing what we preach, we came across the students of McClymonds Highschool (A.K.A: “Mack”) and sponsored a few students so they could attend a road trip college tour! The College tours have been part of the team’s lead Coach philosophy to teach his students that there is more out there than just playing football! Coach P has been taking his students on College road trips for over 10 years and has dedicated himself to mentoring and inspiring his young athletes to win. Win more than games.. win by attending College!
Check out our interviews as we speak to some of the students that got to attend the College road trip to Oregon State University and listen to them as they express how going on these college tours has inspired them to attend college after high school.
Coach P talks about how taking his students on College Tours impacts their performance in school and inspires them to aim higher!
11th grade football player, Jermaine McCann speaks about how college tours have impacted him.
10th grade football student, Louis Ottis speaks about what inspired him from the college tour to Oregon State!
11th grade football player Louis White talks about his dreams as a result of going to college and where he sees himself in the next five to ten years.
