STOMP - Style Body Percussion
Molodi Body Percussion
This residency combines the basics of stepping and STOMP-style body percussion. A fast-paced and culturally rich style of body music performance that focuses on physical, mental, and emotional connections for students. The residency is centered around giving young people a safe, inclusive, engaging space that challenges youth to see, reveal, and strengthen who they are. Stepping and body percussion promotes teamwork, discipline, confidence, music appreciation, and physical well-being. Students can expect to expand their knowledge of rhythm and musicality. The classes are experience-based and move at each individual's level of comprehension so every student leaves with a personally better-tuned instrument (their own body) than when they arrived.
Antwan is a multi-percussionist who has co-founded the Las Vegas-based performance arts company Molodi, performed with the Las Vegas and North American productions of Stomp, and toured nationally with Step Afrika. He actively performs and teaches workshops and residencies in the U.S. and internationally.
